Do you like to write? Maybe you have a story inside you but just aren’t sure how to get started? If you live in the Coeur d’Alene area, join the North Idaho Writers League! We are a fun group with experience ranging from aspiring writers just getting started to published authors with multiple novels. Whether you write novels, short stories, essays, poetry, songs, screenplays, or simply like to journal, we welcome you. We want to help you be a better writer and for you to help us be better writers too.
We meet several times per month for discussion, reading, critiquing, and fellowship. Follow this Substack for notices of upcoming events and other news related to writing in North Idaho. We can’t wait to meet you!

Monthly Meeting Host Sign Ups
Want to sign up to host a meeting or bring refreshments? Check the Google Sheet then send us an email with the date you want to host and the topic. Not into public speaking yourself? That’s okay, invite someone from our community to speak about a writing, publishing, or marketing topic. We’ve had speakers as varied as publishers, bookstore owners, screenwriters, museum directors, Amazon Kindle experts, even a restaurant manager to talk about life in the restaurant industry for those wanting to write a realistic story set in that environment. The possibilities are endless!
Membership
The North Idaho Writers League is a rather small and informal group and as such, our expenses are minimal, but we do have them. Please consider becoming a paid member to help support our group’s expenses, including meeting location rental and other expenses. Membership also includes benefits like listing of your books or website on our website and social media and eligibility to vote or run for the North Idaho Writers League board.
